SHARKS WIN TO ADVANCE TO CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES!

The Martha's Vineyard Sharks defeated the Old Orchard Beach Raging Tide 7-3 in order to advance to the championship series of the Futures League. After a 4-3 victory the previous night, the Sharks were able to come right back and beat the Raging Tide to close out the series.

Sharks starter John Cook (Amherst) pitched a gem of a game, going 8 innings and allowing just 3 runs. Enrique Sosa (Miami) was not as fortunate, taking the loss for the Raging Tide. The Sharks were able to get on the board in the 3rd inning with a pair of runs off a Dylan Tice (IUP) RBI-single. The Raging Tide were able to cut the lead in half with a run in the bottom half of the inning on a Graham McIntyre (Marist) sacrifice-groundout.

The Sharks were able to remain strong defensively behind a great game from Cook, and were able to add insurance runs steadily throughout the game. Davidson Peguero (Fisher) scored on an error by the Raging Tide first-baseman in the 4th. A Tad Gold (Endicott) double in the 7th scored another Sharks run to push the score to 4-1. 3 more runs in the 8th put the game out of reach, and Sharks reliever Jon Dunn (Le Moyne) came in and closed out the game for the Sharks.
