SHARKS USE ALL-AROUND GREAT GAME TO DOWN SILVER KNIGHTS

The Martha's Vineyard Sharks were able to defeat the Nashua Silver Nights 3-1 in a terrific game on the Vineyard. This game will have a major factor on the placement of these teams at the top of the league for the upcoming playoffs. Both starters, Trevor Breton (WNEU) and Tim Cashman (Merrimack), pitched great games as neither team was able to get on the board until the 6th inning.

In the 6th, the Sharks were able to load the bases and with 2 outs, Brett Holmgren (Endicott) was able to single-in Nik Campero (UMASS). Jon Dunn (Le Moyne) came on in relief for Breton in the 8th, but Nashua was able to tie up the game on a Jimmy Ricoy (Umass Lowell) single. However, in the bottom half of the inning, the Sharks were able to get the lead back for good. Davidson Peguero (Fisher) continued his hot-hitting with a 2-run double that put the Sharks up 3-1.

Closer Matt Calamoneri (Scranton) came into the game in the 8th and was able to get the win for the Sharks. The Sharks return to action Wednesday (8/7) against the Brockton Rox at 645 pm.
