Help Alex Finish Veterinary School
"Alex will work hard for all the animals if we can just help him with his tuition," says Betsy Burmeister of Vineyard Haven, who's seeking to raise $2,500.

Betsy Burmeister of Vineyard Haven is spearheading the effort to help a former Island resident earn his veterinary degree, posting on GoFundMe:
"A wonderful young man, Alex Oliveria, who was a Nurses Aide at Windemere for several years, has just started Vet School in his native Brazil.
Alex wants to devote his life to helping animals.
He has worked very hard to get into school and to stay there.
He has received grants and scholarships but needs $2,500 more towards his tuition this year.
While at Windemere he also worked at the Hospital.
Week after week, working 60 hours and more, to save his money to go to school.
If you can donate to Alex's tuition it would be greatly appreciated.
An education opens the door to everything...Pay it forward.
