Bite Back for a Cure, the Tick-Borne Disease Alliance’s (TBDA) national grassroots campaign to build support for the fight against the devastating impact of tick-borne diseases, will stop in Martha’s Vineyard on Sunday, August 18.
The event will begin with a five-mile bike ride from the Lyme Center of Martha’s Vineyard to Chilmark Town Hall. Led by 24-year-old Lyme sufferer and cyclist John Donnally, the ride is part of a cross-country bike tour that will build awareness and galvanize support to defeat these devastating illnesses. Riders of all ages are invited to participate. Registration is $25 per person and $40 per family. Check-in will begin at 9:30 a.m. The ride will begin at 11 a.m.

At 1 p.m. Katina I. Makris, author of Out of the Woods, will deliver an inspirational talk at Chilmark Community Church, which will be followed by a book signing.
That evening, from 6-9 p.m., TBDA will host a fundraiser at Grange Hall, featuring speeches from advocates and authorities on tick-borne diseases. The evening will also include a buffet dinner and dancing.
