Last weekend to see ALLEN WHITING'S Large Works on Canvas.
Allen Whiting has for more than four decades been inspired by the natural landscape, which he celebrates by painting soft emotional works which capture the essence of place in his unique characteristic style.
"If you're a landscape painter, the landscape has to drive you. It's full of good stuff. Just when you're not sure what to do, the sun will break out and leave you a lovely streak."
Plein air oil and occasional watercolor paintings and studies are created outdoors, alone and in the elements. Allen's process is to expand on a select number of these works ... on to larger canvases.
