Noepe Center Author Speaker Series: Jennifer Clement, writer and President of PENN Mexico

THE EVENT:

Join us for a talk by writer and PEN Mexico President, Jennifer Clement who will speak about the trafficking of women in Mexico by drug cartels as portrayed in her new nobel, "Prayers for the Stolen".

Set in Mexico, the novel was inspired by documentary style interviews Clement conducted with young female survivors of that world.

Suggested donation: $5 (to benefit Noepe Center)

ABOUT JENNIFER CLEMENT:
Jennifer Clement is the author of the cult classic memoir "Widow Basquiat", and the novels "A True Story Based on Lies", The Poison That Fascinates", and several books of poetry. She was awarded the National Endowment of the Arts (NEA) Fellowship for Literature in 2012 and is the recipient of the UK's Canongate Prize. Clement is a member of Mexico's prestigious "Sistema Nacional de Creadores."
