New Bedford Working Waterfront Festival

The tenth annual New Bedford Working Waterfront Festival will be held on Saturday, 9/28, and Sunday, 9/29.  With exhibits, contests, fresh seafood, and entertainment, the Working Waterfront Festival has become a very popular family event.  For more information and a schedule of events for this educational and fun festival, go to http://www.workingwaterfrontfetival.org/

Admission to the festival is free and Seastreak is making the event affordable for island families by reducing round trip fares on both days.  An island resident can purchase a round trip ticket from the island to New Bedford and back for only $29, which is half the normal round trip fare.  And children 12 and under travel free.  All events and exhibits are within easy walking distance of the State Pier where the Seastreak Fast Ferry docks.  Seastreak departs from the Oak Bluffs SSA dock on weekends at 10:50 a.m. and will get you to New Bedford in exactly 1-hour, arriving at the festival at 11:50 a.m.  Return trips to the island depart from New Bedford at 3:45 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.  The 3:45 p.m. arrives in Vineyard Haven at 4:45 p.m. while the 6:30 p.m. arrives back in Oak Bluffs at 7:30 p.m.

So, join the fun and learn more about the number-1 fishing port on the entire East Coast.  Take advantage of another opportunity provided by Seastreak in their attempt to better serve the residents of Martha's Vineyard.
