DIGITAL VISIONS / CREATING REALITIES: Digital Media Screenings, Hosted by Richard Skidmore

Pathways first of three Third Thursdays Monthly Digital Media Screenings in Videography, February through April. Four artists will showcase works in videography that utilize the medium of digital exploration intrinsically in the creative process, followed by a discussion.

A re-screening of Valerie Sonnenthal’s animation, Visual Diary Project, a kaleidoscopic triptych created from 27,000 stills, with original music by composer Sergio Cervetti. 

MV Gazette Webmaster, Graham Smith illustrates his use of custom software to re-contextualize footage from public webcams positioned around the island.

Wednesdays @ A’s is a short documentary by Stuart Ginsberg about Arleen Schloss' multi-arts performance space - A’s- , that operated from the 1970’s through the 1990’s in New York City. Richard Skidmore will provide context about Schloss' impact on early performance art, from his experience as spectator, collaborator and friend. 

A 15-minute variety show by Richard Skidmore, 30 Seconds or Less, Unstoppably Watchable, and The Fastest Show on Earth.

Pathways Bookshelf, open in preview with books and magazines featuring arts on island and beyond, DVDs and audio CDs by island artists and musicians, available to purchase or listen onsite at Pathways ArTbaR Kiosk. 

Pathways Projects is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing and catalyzing creative projects in the arts, writings and collaborative forms, with the community of Martha's Vineyard. In addition to Videography at Pathways, the upcoming 2014 Winter-Spring season offers event clusters in music, poetry, digital media, visual arts installations and collaborative forms across media.
