CardioVascular Health

A single day within the Introduction to Herbal Medicine 1-Week Immersion, this class will focus on strengthening cardiovascular health using safe and effective herbs and foods. We'll explore the pharmacology of herbs from around the world and how they are used traditionally and in contemporary medicine to address high blood pressure, low blood pressure, atherosclerosis, cold hands/cold feet, heart arrhythmia, memory and cognitive thought, and overall health. Geared for beginners, this is an inspiring and pragmatic introduction to using natural plants to build the strength of the heart.

We'll also look at the emotional side of the heart, learning about herbs for grief, sadness, mild and moderate depression, and the more positive side of it: love! All of these emotions can be nourished and healed using herbal remedies, and we'll explore how through sampling, herbal identification in our apothecary garden, and study.

This day-long workshop is open to everyone age 18+; please bring a potluck dish to share for lunch.

Date: July 30 2014, 10-3 (note: time is subject to change)

Cost: $85 (for a more in-depth exploration of herbal medicine, register for the 1-Week Immersion beginning July 28)
