An Evening of New Poetry Readings by PATRICK PHILLIPS and SAMANTHA BARROW, With an Open Poetry Jam ...

Poetry at Pathways continues with an evening celebrating newly composed poems by two writers who have received Pathways Honoraria Awards for creative time to create book manuscripts ~ PATRICK PHILLIPS and SAMANTHA BARROW.

Followed by an open Poetry Jam, with all poets, writers and community invited to read, or to listen to new work.

Poet, designer, teacher, and photographer PATRICK PHILLIPS will share a selection from his 100-poem manuscript We Plié. This book length collection unfolds in sections written over the course of a decade. This is a rare opportunity to hear multiple resonances in the many layers of this work in one reading. Phillips in recent years wears an additional hat as founder, publisher and editor of Arts & Ideas.

SAMANTHA BARROW is a poet, performer, writer, and educator at the City College of New York. She facilitates creative resilience and writing workshops with survivors of sexual assault. RICHARD SKIDMORE, a writer and editor for over forty years, has been editorial companion to Barrow in creating this new manuscript, The Book of Breeding. An exploration of reproductive, Barrow speaks

these poems as alternatively

playful and painful, yet always with imagination and honesty.
