Submission Deadline for "Island Faces" Portrait Contest

The , in collaboration with , is and inviting portrait entries through end of the day today. A panel of four judges will jury the competition. The winning portraits will debut at the Museum’s summer opening reception on June 15, 2012, and remain on display through the summer. The public will also be able to vote on a separate “People’s Choice” category, the winners of which will be featured on display at Featherstone in the fall of 2012. Featherstone will also be offering a series of classes this fall to get people inspired and in the mood to create. Entry forms and additional details are available on the Museum’s website.

FUNDRAISERS

Annual Spaghetti Dinner & Silent Auction

Grace Preschool is holding their today at in Vineyard Haven. There will be an auction preview from 4-5pm downstairs in the Preschool classroom. The Spaghetti Dinner is again being hosted by and begins at 5pm, takeout will be available from 4:30pm. The Silent Auction begins at 5pm and ends at 6:45pm. The live auction will begin at 6:45pm with celebrity auctioneer Mike Delis. All proceeds from the dinner and auction benefit the children and programs of Grace Preschool. Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Fundraiser

There is an Avon Walk for Breast Cancer Fundraiser tonight at the in Edgartown. Music by Mike Benjamin and Gordan Healy, dancing, raffle, and silent auction. 8 pm - 1 am.

Youth Soccer Registration

A Midsummer Night’s Dream

Opening of Pathways' IMAGINE ARTS Festival

This evening celebrate the and the first day of Poetry Month at the in the .  Featuring "Alice's April 1st Moveable Arts Banquet" an unpredictable fest of "Just Kidding, Dry Wit, Tongue in Cheek" with works across a variety of art forms. Includes special solo performance by Jesse Keller of The Yard to a John Cage score, performances by David Stanwood on improvisational piano and William Waterway on flute, as well as the introduction of Collaborative Arts Ensemble of MV. Free. 5 pm.

Mammary Madness at Crossfit Martha's Vineyard

Team at Crossfit Martha's Vineyard (CFMV) today. CFMV athletes Sherri Church and Kelly Kershaw are participating in the Avon Foundation walk for breast cancer and are hosting a partner Workout of the Day to help them raise money for the cause. You do not have to be a member of CFMV to participate. There will also be a raffle. CMFV is located in the Gymnasium. 11:00am-1:00pm.

Alpaca Farm Junior Discovery

Sunday Projects at the Farm Institute
