Fundraisers

The Vineyard Committee on Hunger Bread Sale happens today under the Linden Tree on Main Street in Vineyard Haven. Donated baked goods welcome between 8:30 am - 10 am. All proceeds help to relieve hunger on the Island. 9 am - 2 pm.

 

Tonight there is a Benefit Dinner for Rick Vanderhoop at the in Aquinnah. Friends and family are raising money to assist with the cost of chemotherapy treatments for Rick Vanderhoop who has been fighting prostate cancer since 2007. Recently the potentially life-saving medications that are necessary to treat his illness have become unaffordable. Musicians Kate Taylor and Jennifer Clarke will perform, there will be a pig roast dinner, food by , The and the Aquinnah Shop. There will also be a silent auction. $50. Cash bar. 6 pm – 10 pm.

 

Kids & Family

Today is the 5th Annual Lighthouse Challenge brought to you by the Martha's Vineyard Museum, Trustees of Reservations and Martha's Vineyard Chamber of Commerce. Tour the Island and visit the Vineyard's five beautiful and well-preserved lighthouses and the first order Fresnel Lens located on the Museum campus. Learn about maritime history while enjoying the beautiful vistas and scenic waters. $15 per person/$25 per family includes visits inside the East Chop, Edgartown and Gay Head lighthouses, the grounds at the West Chop Lighthouse, and admission to the Martha's Vineyard Museum.
