There are many holiday events, concerts and festivities this weekend. Plus some great films and food.

Saturday, December 3rd

This is the second to last of the year. There’s still vegetables, eggs, meat, wool, baked good, soups, jams and more to be had. Kevin Keady & Friends will be playing tunes and lunch will be offered. , West Tisbury. 10 am - 2 pm

Enjoy the Martha’s Vineyard School of Ballet’s 14th annual production of the . Starring Kirstin Glaser as the Sugar Plum Fairy and Devon Lodge, from Oak Bluffs, as the Snow King and Arabian. Performances take place at the and today at 4 pm. Tickets: $15; $25 for preferred seating and $50 for families. (Also Sunday)

The Holiday Concert takes place tonight at 7:30pm at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown $15. (Also Sunday)

The Holly Day Fair & Luncheon takes place today at in Vineyard Haven. There will be a luncheon served from 11 am – 1 pm including their famous lobster rolls. Handmade Island crafts, ornaments plus a children’s room for young ones to shop and wrap. All proceeds go to benefit Episcopal Relief and Development.

The Annual MV NAACP Holiday Bazaar happens today in the cafeteria at the . There will be a silent auction, white elephant table, raffles and more. 10 am – 4 pm. For more information, call 508-696-5785

The Winter Film Series opens this evening at the . Enjoy the short kid’s film, “Being Me,” at 5 pm followed by a community dinner at 6:30 and the feature “Farmageddon” at 7:30 pm.

The MV Film Society is screening the London Film Festival winner for best film, tonight at the Katherine Cornell Theater. Rated R. MV Film Society members $5, non-members $8.

 

Sunday, December 4th

Come celebrate the hearty vegetable of winter at the at in Chilmark. There will be kale cooking demos, kale tastings, a kale cook-off and a potluck brunch. There will also be tours. The event starts with demos at 10 am, followed by the cook-off and brunch at noon. Bring a dish to share (that includes kale!). For more information, email showfoodvineyard@gmail.com

Award winning photographer Eli Dagostino is holding a at the r today. Lunch will be available for sale. Sessions cost $65 and proceeds go to benefit the Chilmark Preschool Violin program. 10 am – 2 pm. Reservations required, call 508-645-9323.
