Track Team Races to State Tourament
More than 20 percent of this year's high school track team has qualified for the state divisional tournament, which begins today.
More than 20 percent of the Martha's Vineyard Regional High School track team qualified for the state divisional track meet, which begins today at 2:30 p.m. at North Reading High School and continues on Saturday.
Qualifiers will advance to the state championship on June 4 at Bridgewater State University. The New England championships will be held June 11 at Burlington High School, in Vermont.
Led by burner Randall Jette, who won the Eastern Athletic Conference 100-meter championship, and Maggie Riseborough, undefeated shot-putter in the EAC regular season, 16 members of the team will compete this weekend for the opportunity to advance. MVRHS competitors, events and qualifying times are as follows.
