Oak Bluffs Library Website and Logo Unveiling Party

Celebrate the new fresh branding behind the Oak Bluffs Library with a two day celebration.

What: Oak Bluffs Public Library Website and Logo Launch Party

Where: Oak Bluffs Public Library

When: Friday, February 1, 5:00pm - 8:00pm and Saturday, February 2, 10:00am - 4:00am.

Cost: $25 a couple, $15 per individuals

The Oak Bluffs Library and Jesse Hayes of Hayes Design Studio have reworked the branding and image behind the library. With a fresh color scheme, and a member friendly website, the library is primed and ready to start a new chapter.

In honor of the celebration the Oak Bluffs Library has planned a two-day event featuring an 18-hole indoor mini golf course on Friday, with food and beverage provided by Park Corner Bistro and Skinny Fat's.

Not only will the new logo and website be unveiled but the newly appointed library director Sondra Murphy will be recognized and celebrated.

With the chilly weather hitting the Vineyard, we all need an outlet and excuse to gather and socialize. Let this be the time.  Bring your friends and family and support the heart beat of Oak Bluffs.

“A great library doesn't have to be big or beautiful. It doesn't have to have the best facilities or the most efficient staff or the most users. A great library provides. It is enmeshed in the life of a community in a way that makes it indispensable. A great library is one nobody notices because it is always there, and always has what people need.” - Vicki Myron

you're kidding about this being the new logo, right? and use for the record: a new logo is not rebranding.

You are so right that a new logo is not rebranding! Why don't you come to the celebration and check it out so you may see all that was done!

I think its great to stimulate reading by bringing people into the library, however you can do it, by whatever means. Still, miniature golf seems a stretch. Maybe that's to crush the shush we all associate with libraries and librarians. I'll never forget last summer after the booksale, those two dumpsters in the parking lot full to the top with discarded titles. Oh, not just titles, entire books. I had to do it. I went over the side. I mean I'm age 64 and I'm dumpster diving for mystery novels out back of the OB library. Got seventy-five of them. Quite a haul. Will never forget that day... The OB library still has those gorgeous Margot Datz murals, I hope. I'll take those if their re-branding includes a complete makeover.
