Five Things You Need to Know Today: September 21

Today there is a Free Memory Screening in Edgartown, an artist reception for Linda Thompson in Chilmark and Robot and Frank screens at the Martha's Vineyard Film Center

1. Today at Polly Hill Arboretum, there is a two-part workshop: Introduction to Grasses, Sedges, and Rushes. $120 for nonmembers/$100 for members/$80 for professionals associated with Island land management or conservation organizations. 9 am – 3 pm. 2. There will be Free Memory Screenings today at the Edgartown Council on Aging. Appointments required. 10 am - 2 pm. For more information, or to make an appointment, please call 508-775-5656.

3. This afternoon, the Martha's Vineyard Film Society screens ROBOT and FRANK in the new Martha’s Vineyard Film Center. $10/$7 for MV Film Society Members. 3:30 pm – 5 pm. For more information, call 508-696-9369

4. This evening at the Bank of Martha’s Vineyard in Chilmark, there will be an Opening and Artist Reception for Vineyard Landscapes by Linda Thompson. Up through Sept. 27th. 4 pm - 6 pm. For more information, call 508-645-9095.

5. There is a Community Open Stage at the Base Collective tonight at the YMCA. All ages invited to perform music, dance, poetry and comedy. $5. 8 pm. Signup in person at 6 pm or call 508-696-7171.
