Five Things You Need to Know Today: October 7

Today there is a Popcorn Festival at Native Earth, a CD release party for Tristan Israel at the Pit Stop and XX Danger Zone XX takes place at A Gallery

1. There is a Popcorn Festival today at Native Earth Teaching Farm in Chilmark. Fall family fun at the farm, with pygmy goats, their own homegrown dyes, games for kids, and popcorn for all! 10 am–3 pm

2. It’s Family Fun Day at Middletown Nursery in West Tisbury today. Make scarecrows for a fall display. Clothes will be provided to get you started or feel free to bring your own supplies. There will also be pony rides and refreshments. Free. 11 am – 2 pm

3. The 9th Annual Art of Chocolate Festival continues today in the Virginia Weston Besse Gallery at Featherstone in Oak Bluffs. 2 tastes for $5 or 5 tastes for $10. 12 – 4 pm.

4. Tonight at The Pit Stop, there will be a Tristan Israel CD Release party. Tristan Israel will perform original songs from his new cd "The Sound After The Flash," along with musicians Paul Thurlow and Nancy Jephcote. All ages are welcome. $10/$5 for Pit Stop Members. BYOB. 7 pm.

5. Tonight at A Gallery, there will be a XX DANGER ZONE XX performance featuring art, sound, multi-media and spoken word. Free. 7 pm–10:30 pm
