Five Things You Need to Know Today: October 6

Today Wee Farmers meet at the Farm Institute, there's a Wampanoag Beadwork Demonstration in Aquinnah and it's Build a Fairy house day at the WT Library

1. The Farm Institute in Katama is holding Wee Farmer Morning this morning. Children 2-5, along with a parent or caregiver, can explore and help with the farm's animals and gardens. Every Saturday through Oct. 27. $15. 9:30 am – 11 am. For more information, or to register, call 508-627-7007.

2. Today at the West Tisbury Library, children (and adults) are invited to Build a Fairy House using your own natural materials or those provided. Free cookies and lemonade. 11 am – 3 pm

3. There is a Wampanoag Beadwork Demonstration with Trudie Vanderhoop today at the Aquinnah Cultural Center. 11 am - 4 pm. For more information, email aquinnahcc@gmail.com.

4. This afternoon the Watoto Children's Choir from Africa will perform at Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs. Free. 4 pm. For more information, visit watoto.com/choirs.

5. There is a Martha’s Vineyard Museum Plein Art Artist Session today at the Gay Head Lighthouse in Aquinnah. Free for artists and onlookers. Artists should register in advance by calling 508-627-4441 ext. 110 or via email at cbahara@mvmuseum.org. Noon to 5 pm.
