Five Things You Need To Know: May 24

Flowering trees, life-saving lessons and food for the arts.

1. The Polly Hill Arboretum will present The Best of Small Flowering Trees from 10 to 11 a.m. Join executive director Tim Boland for a review of flowering trees that fit your landscape needs. The event is free for Polly Hill members, $5 for non-members.

2. Jeff Pratt, Massachusetts EMT-Paramedic, AHA basic and advanced life support instructor, will be teaching an American Heart Association CPR and First Aid Class today and Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m. at the Mansion House. 3. It’s at both locations of Sharky’s Cantina. A portion of all food proceeds throughout the date will benefit Featherstone Center for the Arts.

4. A funeral service for Arthur Railton, author and Vineyard historian, will be held at the Old Whaling Church at 11 a.m. A reception will follow at the same location.
