Five Things You Need To Know: Dec.13

Lots of fun things to do around the island today - from ice skating to an all-island youth band concert.

1. Get some time on the ice and fun workout in this afternoon with the Adult Skating Class at the MV Ice Arena in Oak Bluffs. The session is an introduction to skating basics, touching on intermediate and some advanced techniques with Corinne de Langavant a.k.a Coco. 2. The Vineyard Haven Library will host Children's Crafts this afternoon from 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm, for ages 5 to 11. Weekly on Thursdays; call (508) 696-4211 for more information.

3. The Tisbury Business Association is treating the island to a free showing of the Christmas class, "The Polar Express" this afternoon at the Capawock Theater in Vineyard Haven. 4. There will be an M.V. Peace Council Planning Meeting tonight at 7:00 pm at 101 Chase Road in Edgartown. Before the meeting join the group for a potluck dinner at 6:00 pm. Call (508)627-8536 or (508)693-3930 for more information. 

5. Tonight island band students from grades 5th thru 8th will put on an All-Island Winter Band Concert at the MV Regional High School Performing Arts Center in Oak Bluffs. Free. Call (508)696-6506 for more information; 7:00 pm.
