Tattoo Shop Coming to Edgartown
Martha's Vineyard Tattoo is moving into the Triangle space that until this week housed the Aboveground Records store.
There was a time in the 20th century when just about everybody had a record player, but relatively few people sported tattoos.
In modern times, it's tattoos that are trendy and soon it will be easier to get your body inked on Martha's Vineyard than to purchase a new album over the counter.
Aboveground Records owner Michael Barnes, during the last day of business at his Edgartown Triangle shop Saturday, said the next tenant for his retail space will be Mark Fuentes of Martha's Vineyard Tattoo, which has been based on Circuit Avenue in Oak Bluffs.
The tattoo shop likely will be open in a couple of months, Barnes said.
