Plum TV Files for Chapter 11

Former Hearst VP Mackin interested in acquisition

, a company with cable television stations in resort areas, including the Vineyard, has filed for bankruptcy.

An article published on the Broadcasting & Cable website reports that, "In conjunction with the filing, Plum has entered into an asset purchase agreement with an investor group led by Terry Mackin, a broadcast TV veteran and the president of media consultancy ForesightLab, and Bill Apfelbaum, chairman of Media Ventures Group. Plum TV intends to submit the agreement to the court to serve as the 'stalking horse' bid for an auction of Plum's assets."

Mackin, former executive VP of what was then Hearst-Argyle Television, was also chairman and president of the NBC affiliates board, and also served as group president of Univision in 2008.
