Martha's Vineyard Named Hot U.S. Wedding Spot

The Boston Globe reports what many of us on the Island know full well: The Vineyard is a hot spot to tie the knot, with up to 50 weddings a weekend at the nuptial season's peak.

It used to be that most of us who got married on Martha's Vineyard either were from here, spent summers here or were getting hitched to someone who grew up or spent summers here.

But nowadays, as Island wedding planners and hospitality workers know full well, the Vineyard is one of the most desirable places in America for any loving couple to tie the knot.

In September, our report TV Funnyman Gets Married on Martha's Vineyard became one of the most popular posts of the year on MV Patch.

And the Boston Globe this week devoted a feature article to the topic Martha's Vineyard becomes top wedding destination.

September is the busiest month for weddings on the Island, the Globe reports, with up to 50 ceremonies each weekend.

And that's good news for Island wedding planners, caterers, cab companies, lodging places and related businesses, many of the named in the Globe article.
