Cape Air to Drop Vineyard-Hyannis Service Off-Season

Direct flights between Martha's Vineyard and Hyannis will end Oct. 22 and resume May 22, 2014, Cape Air has announced. Will your travel plans be affected? Tell us in the comments.

The Island's only year-round air carrier is making its Hyannis-Martha's Vineyard route a seasonal service, according to a travel alert on the Cape Air website:

Our service between Hyannis and Martha's Vineyard will become a seasonal route, effective October 22, 2013. Flights between HYA and MVY will resume on May 22, 2014.

Service to Martha's Vineyard from Boston, New Bedford and Nantucket will remain year-round.
