Best of Patch Readers' Choice: Best Family Friendly Restaurant

Vote for your favorite place on the Island to take your family out to eat

Going out to dinner with kids can either be a blast or a nightmare. Much of that depends on how “Family Friendly” a restaurant is. There are a few needs that parents have when choosing which establishment to take their kids out for dinner. These are different for every family, but include such items as, free crayons and paper (and maybe even a toy); a kids’ menu that includes French fries and a burger with cheese (and nothing else, please); the possibility of a Shirley Temple with an umbrella and, most importantly, other diners who don’t care about the 2-year-old that needs to circle the restaurant for hours sucking on the above mentioned French fry.

Thankfully, the Island has a fair share of family friendly restaurants both seasonally and year round like:

Where is your family’s favorite place to go out to eat? Vote and then be sure to go to that restaurant’s page in our Patch Places section and give them a review.

Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor, based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places. Please vote only once per survey, per Patch. Please see our official rules in the attached PDF.

If you ask me, the best places in the summer are the Bite and the Galley. If you ask my kids it's Gios or the Shanty! Since we are here all year, though, I'm voting for Linda Jeans, because if you're going to do it, do it right (they say) and that means chocolate chip pancakes AND milkshakes.

I voted for Linda Jean's. My youngest, (17yo) is significantly autistic. She loves Linda Jean's and has always been made to feel very comfortable by the staff there. Everyone remembers her name and I'm know as "Gracie's dad." Chocolate chip pancakes rule.......(-;

Love Linda Jeans. I have been going there since before the renovation (how long ago could that have been?). We always leave happy. Great specials.

Joy. I remember standing with my kids, looking down in the hole where Linda Jean's had been. That had to be well over 10 years ago.
