Musicians Gather in Chilmark for Pot Luck Jam

Celebrating his new CD, West Tisbury singer-songwriter Alex Karalekas headlined an evening of Island talent at the Chilmark Community Center Friday. How many local musicians can you recognize in our 30-second video?

More than 50 music lovers young and old turned out for Friday night's "Pot Luck Jam" at the Chilmark Community Center.

Organized by West Tisbury singer-songwriter Alex Karalekas, who released a new CD as part of the event, the evening began with Kevin Keaty of Chappaquiddick reciting a Robert Frost poem and performing his Chappy Ferry theme song.

Other performers who came out for the event included the duos of Dan Waters and Al Shackman and Anthony Esposito and Katrina Nevin, pianist David Stanwood — who brought an upright around the corner from the Chilmark Tavern to the Community Center, where he touched up the tuning before the evening began — and Karalekas himself.
