"Jaws" Beer Can Returns

Now everyone can "crush it like Quint" with the reissued, limited-edition 1970s Narragansett Beer can design seen in "Jaws," which was filmed on Martha's Vineyard in 1974.

Friday, Aug. 9 would have been Robert Shaw's 86th birthday, if the "Jaws" star had not died in 1978.

Coincidentally, the Narragansett Beer Company has reissued the beer can design Shaw made famous in the 1975 motion picture that was filmed on Martha's Vineyard in 1974.

In a scene that has spawned countless reenactments and inspired Narragansett's "Crush it Like Quint" contest, Shaw's intimidating shark hunter Capt. Quint polishes off his 'Gansett and then crushes the can in his hand, leading nerdy biologist Matt Hooper (Richard Dreyfuss) to nervously crush a Styrofoam cup.

According to the beer company's Facebook page, "Gansett’s limited-edition 1975 throwback cans are in stores now" — just in time for Shark Week on TV.
