Guests noshed on gourmet tea sandwiches such as smoked salmon with ginger lime butter and prosciutto and port fig and drank from dainty cups of cold cucumber soup made by Herring Run Kitchens. Followed by desserts like raspberry cakes and lemon meringue tarts provided by .

The fashion show was just as dazzling as the it's surroundings. set the tone for a catwalk that featured looks by 16 different local designers and stores with models that made you realize how many beautiful women there are on Martha's Vineyard.

There were raffles for gift certificates to all of the participating stores and a final raffle for artist Traeger di Pietro's painting, "A Love Story" featuring two teacups that found each other at the .

The best part of the day was the judging of the hats. Contestants took to the catwalk to model their one of a kind hats that ranged from fantastic to floral, all of which were extremely fun.

Inside the Virginia Weston Besse Gallery visitors previewed The 17th Annual "Art of Flowers" show with guest curator, Holly Alaimo. If you missed the garden party, you won't want to miss this glorious celebration of all things floral featuring 56 artists exhibiting their work in an assortment of mediums. The exhibition opened to the public the following day and will stay up until May 25th.

 

Featherstone Center for the Arts is open daily from noon - 4 pm. The Art of Flowers Show with guest curator Holly Alaimo will be exhibited in the Virginia Weston Besse Gallery until May 25th.
