The US Slave Song Project Inc., a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded by James E. Thomas in 2005, is dedicated to educating the public in the history and interpretation of authentic US slave songs (ca. 1619-1863) through presentations and performances. Jim Thomas is choir director of the Jim Thomas Spirituals Choir and principal narrator.
