Built on Stilts

The Vineyard’s own homegrown dance festival celebrates its 16th anniversary

at Union Chapel in Oak Bluffs Aug. 9-12 & 18-21

Visit www.builtonstilts.org for artists' schedule and more information. Built on Stilts exemplifies the shared language of dance through an incomparably egalitarian and inspiring festival. This season features the work of over 40 choreographers from the Vineyard and beyond representing a broad array of styles by performers of all ages. The festival's all-inclusive philosophy has attracted an enormous range of choreographic sophistication and technical ability, defining Built on Stilts by its collective energy and creative output, as a home in which professional participants are free to experiment and fledgling performers can discover the joy of making dances. Drum Circle begins at 7:30pm. (All acoustic musicians are invited to join in!) Dance performances begin at 8pm. The program is different each night and all shows are family friendly. As ever, the shows are free to the public and audiences many come and go as they please. FREE. Donations at the door welcome! No reservations necessary.
