Seven galleries open their doors and invite the public for an evening of art and live entertainment. The Arts District Stroll is a summer staple that floods Dukes County Avenue with everyone from curators to the simply curious. This year promises to be equally inspired, with many artists and gallery owners planning to unveil new bodies of work at the stroll.

Alison Shaw Gallery will be celebrating the release of To the Harbor Light, Ms. Shaw’s highly anticipated book of Cape and Islands lighthouses. The illuminating photographs promise to pair well with complementary Offshore Ale shandies and “light” hors d’oeuvres.

Stefanie Wolf will be hosting a reception in her courtyard  and featuring her 2012 jewelry collection which is all about color. She is celebrating her new leather ladder bracelets in eye popping colors, and my her collection made from Wampum-inspired glass tiles.

Dragonfly Fine Arts Gallery will host a reception with Painter Jessica Pisano, Watercolorist Laura Wilk and fabric collage artist Wanda Wiggins. Visitors can talk with the artists about their unique creative processes and enjoy a performance by singer/songwriter Jeremy Nash.

Periwinkle Studio will be showing the most recent oil paintings by Judith Drew Schubert, the show is called "Pear Tree Cove" and hosting an artist reception.

At Pik Nik Art and Apparel, where the shows never fail to surprise and delight, curator Michael Hunter encourages visitors to “expect anything.”

Red Mannequin will have live music from 5-6 pm and a special sale from their collection of expressive, well-tailored styles and shoes for people with tastes from funky to fabulous.

At Lucinda Enamels, Lucinda Sheldon will be showcasing her handmade children’s “dress up” clothes along with her classic, island-inspired enamel jewelry.

So come and enjoy the artist festivities that each gallery is serving up at the Arts District Art Stroll, Saturday, July 14th, from 4 to 7 pm, Dukes County Avenue, Oak Bluffs.
