Bill Buckner at Sharky's

Bill Buckner is coming to town. The Martha’s Vineyard Sharks will host a with former Red Sox Bill Buckner on Saturday, May 14 at Sharky’s in Edgartown. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.

Geraldine Brooks at Bunch of Grapes

Pulitzer Prize–winning author will bookstore on Saturday, May 14 to discuss and sign copies of her latest novel, “Caleb’s Crossing.” The event begins at 7:30 p.m.

Price: Free

 

Alzheimer's Walk

The Miles for Memories Alzheimer's Walk will take place on Sunday, May 15, at noon at the Ocean Park in Oak Bluffs. The event benefits Alzheimer's Services of the Cape and Islands. 

 

World War II Stories

Local World War II veterans Tom Hale, Ted Morgan, Nelson Smith and others will stop by the Martha’s Vineyard Museum on Saturday, May 14 at 3 p.m. to of their wartime experiences.

Price: Free for members, $7 for non-members

 

Ballroom Dance Party at The Space  

Put on your dancing shoes and come to The Space for a with live entertainment by the Tashmoo Trio on Sunday, May 15, from 6 to 9 p.m. 

Price: Donations are gratefully accepted

 

AmeriCorps Community Service Day

The AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps (NCCC) team, Raven 1, and the Martha’s Vineyard Youth Leadership Initiative will host a on May 15 from 1 to 5 pm. The nine members of Raven 1 will lead a beach clean up at Cape Pogue Wildlife Preservation. Free Chappy ferry passes and transport will br provided. An AmeriCorps informational session will be held at the Vineyard Haven Library on Saturday, May 14 from 3 to 4 p.m.
