FARMERS’ MARKET

The West Tisbury Farmers’ Market re-opens for the season on Saturday, June 11. The market is open from 9 a.m. to noon at the Grange Hall in West Tisbury.

LIGHTHOUSE CHALLENGE

The Martha’s Vineyard Museum and the Martha’s Vineyard Chamber of Commerce will present the 4th Annual Martha’s Vineyard Lighthouse Challenge on Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Climb to the top of the Gay Head, East Chop, and Edgartown lighthouses for $15; the cost is $25 per family.

SHUCKING CONTEST

Nancy’s Restaurant & Snackbar in Oak Bluffs will host an oyster-shucking contest on Saturday, June 11 from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Participants can compete to win prizes and bid on contest oysters. The event is sponsored by Heineken and will feature live music. All proceeds will benefit the Animal Shelter of Martha’s Vineyard.

 

WAMPANOAG HISTORY

The Aquinnah Cultural Center will re-open for the season on Saturday, June 11 at 1 p.m. The museum will feature exhibits on traditional and 19th century Wampanoag history and culture.

 

ARTISANS ON DISPLAY

The Vineyard Artisans Festival returns to the Grange Hall in West Tisbury on Sunday, June 12, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More than 60 local artists will be on hand to display and sell their work.
