Fabulist Fun at the Amphitheater

The Fabulists return to the Tisbury Amphitheater for the first performance of the season. A group of adult actors will stage performances for children at 10 a.m. Tickets are $10, $5 for children, free for children 2 and under.

JAWS at the Federated Church

The Island’s own Matt Taylor has co-authored a new book, “JAWS: Memories form Martha’s Vineyard,” that compiled photographs and anecdotes from the filming of Steven Spielberg’s famous movie on Martha’s Vineyard. The official launch of the book will take place Saturday, July 2 at 5:30 p.m. at the in Edgartown. “JAWS” production designer Joe Alves wil speak. Tickets are $20, and benefit the Martha’s Vineyard Museum.

Stars + Stripes for the Y

The YMCA will present Stars + Stripes, a benefit concert for the YMCA featuring Chiddy Bang, the Knocks, French Horn Rebellion and Savoir Adore. The concert takes place Saturday, July 2 at 9 p.m. at . Tickets are $30 in advance, $35 at the door. The event is 21+.

 

Raising Orphan Awareness through Song

The Watoto Children’s Choir, of Uganda, will perform at the on Saturday, July 2, at 7:30 p.m. Watoto choirs have traveled the world since 1994, raising awareness about the plight of the orphaned and vulnerable children of Africa. Each of the children has suffered the loss of their parents through war or disease. Admission is free.

 

"American Idol" star at the Vineyard Baseball Park

William Hung, of “American Idol” fame, will stop by the on Sunday, June 3 when the Martha’s Vineyard Sharks take on the Seacoast Mavericks. The game will begin at 1 p.m. The Vineyard Sound will also be in attendance. Tickets are $5, $3 for children.
