Wee Parade, Big St. Patrick's Day Fun in Edgartown

Hundreds of people turned out for the second annual St. Patrick's Day parade, sponsored by the Kelley House and Newes of America. Our video gives you a taste of the fun.

More than 200 people, including many children and some dogs, donned their brightest green attire for Sunday's St. Patrick's Day "Wee Parade" in downtown Edgartown.

Led by bagpiper Tony Peake, wearing a kilt in the recently-introduced Martha's Vineyard tartan, and grand marshal John Murray, the short but festive procession included the Vineyard Swordfish longsword dance team in bells and ribbons, a convertible and a fire engine and lots of candy-tossing.

About two minutes after it began, the parade arrived at its finish line, the Newes from America pub and Kelley House, where Peake played a bagppe medley at the North Water Street corner while the Swordfish danced to a hurdy-gurdy further down the block and Kelley House employees served cider outside the hotel.
