Walk on the Wild Side

Felix Neck is celebrating all things wild on Martha's Vineyard, from birds of prey to salamanders and horseshoe crabs.

Now that spring has officially sprung, there's no excuse not to get out and explore the beauty of the Island. Whether you're an animal lover or just looking for a quiet afternoon to walk among the flowers, the Vineyard Wildlife Festival has something to suit your needs.

This free event, hosted by in Edgartown will occur between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 21. Scheduled events include a bird walk with Rob Culbert, a live birds of prey demonstration, an "All About Horseshoe Crabs" lesson and a survey of salamander populations.

Participants are free to listen and join in on any of the lectures they choose, or just walk the trails. Grass-fed Island-grown burgers as well as hot dogs, will be available for purchase courtesy of .
