Seals Spotted At South Beach

Human swimmers weren't the only ones enjoying the water at South Beach in Edgartown on Saturday morning. Dozens of beachgoers at the right fork spotted what appeared to be a seal undulating its way westward a few yards offshore at about 11:30 a.m.

The same pinniped, or a pal — whole pods have been reported off Island beaches recently — was back Sunday at the left fork to give more spectators the thrill of briefly glimpsing a marine mammal coursing through the waves.

Have you seen seals on Martha's Vineyard this summer? Tell us in the comments.
