Carly Simon, an award-winning narrator and book sales round out a host of bibliophile options this weekend.
The beach weather may be a little iffy, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t stock up on a good beach book. This weekend brings plenty of book sales, talks and signings—including one featuring the Vineyard’s beloved songstress Carly Simon.

Carly Simon at the Bunch of Grapes Grammy Award–winning singer Carly Simon will stop by the Bunch of Grapes on Saturday, May 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. to sign copies of the children’s book “Take Me Out to the Ballgame.” Simon’s three song CD is packaged with the book.

Book and Lemonade Stand Buy a book, and maybe lunch, too. The First Baptist Church is hosting a book and food sale on Saturday, May 28 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., complete with lemonade and hot dogs.

Narration Talk Meet the voice behind the books on tape. Davina Porter will lead a conversation on audio narration on Saturday, May 28 at 4 p.m. at the West Tisbury Library. Porter is the 2006 Audie winner for best female narrator.

Used Book Drop-off The Oak Bluffs Library is donations on Saturday, May 28 between noon and 3 p.m. for its July book sale.

Polly Hill Arboretum Author Talk Later that day the arboretum and the Martha’s Vineyard Garden Club will present an author’s talk with Andrea Wulf on her book “Founding Gardeners: The Revolutionary Generation, Nature, and the Shaping of the American Nation.” The talk takes place at 4 p.m. at the arboretum, and costs $10. A book signing will follow.
