Martha's Vineyard Photo of the Day: Aerial View of Norton Point-Wasque Breach
From the Chappy Ferry Facebook page comes pilot-photographer Bill Brine's recent aerial shot of the ever-changing breach between Chappaquiddick and Katama.
On a rainy autumn day, this recent Facebook post from the Chappy Ferry is a reminder of what our local weather can do when a real storm is afoot.
It's been more than six years since a storm surge blew out the bottom of Katama Bay, causing the breach between Katama and Chappaquiddick that has been a periodic feature of the local landscape throughout human memory. Pilot/photographer Bill Brine's aerial photo shows the latest progress of the ever-changing breach, which is expected to close again within a few more years.
