Meet Maicon Nilson Patricio, the first Islander born in this new year of 2014.
Maicon, who made his appearance at 1:30 a.m. January 3, joins siblings Lila, 5, and Andre, 9, who were also born at Martha's Vineyard Hospital.
The proud parents are Maicon and Amanda Patricio of Oak Bluffs.
Amanda, too, is an Island native, born at the old Martha's Vineyard Hospital to Kandace and Charles Mead, who still live here and joined the family in the maternity ward for Saturday's photo opportunity.
