Girl Scout Cookies on Martha's Vineyard: Buy Them Today

The Island's last remaining Girl Scout troop has cookie booths planned for today at Stop & Shop in both Edgartown and Vineyard Haven.

Almost as soon as I arrived on Martha's Vineyard last month, I began the hunt for Girl Scout cookies.

It hasn't been an easy pursuit. Reporting on major crimes in the Napa Valley was easier than getting the lowdown on where Islanders can buy cookies from a local Girl Scout troop.

But after at least 10 emails back and forth with scouting personnel on the Cape, a half-dozen local phone calls and multiple comments on Facebook and Patch, I got the scoop this morning:

Martha's Vineyard Girl Scout Troop 80827 will be selling cookies today, said leader Suzanne Reppert of Oak Bluffs.

"We have everything you could possibly want" in the Girl Scout cookie line, Reppert said.

Find the scouts and their cookies at the Stop & Shop in Edgartown from about 1 to 3:30 p.m. and at the Stop & Shop in Vineyard Haven from 3 to 5 p.m., Reppert said.

Thanks to everyone who helped me in this search. Just back from school break, the 12 members of Troop 80827 are the Island's last remaining Girl Scouts due to a lack of adults willing to step up and volunteer, Reppert said.
