Five Things to Know: March 6, 2013

Another wicked storm may bring flooding tomorrow; here are some things happening on Martha's Vineyard today, and you can find more in our Events calendar.

  1. Heads up: High tides tomorrow and Friday could mean more coastal flooding and severe erosion on the Vineyard, according to the National Weather Service, which has upgraded a flood watch to a coastal flood warning beginning at 5 a.m. Thursday.
  2. Are you an Islander in need of food and/or clothing? Clothes to Go offers free gently worn clothing, Wednesdays from 2 to 4 p.m. and Saturdays from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Christ United Methodist Church; the Island Food Pantry is open Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays from 2 to 4 p.m. at the same location.
  3. Are you in a position to help your less-fortunate neighbors eat? Monetary donations are welcome: Island Food Pantry, PO Box 1874, Vineyard Haven, MA 02568.
  4. This week's "Wednesday Night Classic Film" at the MV Film Center is Hiroshima Mon Amour, showing at 7:30.
  5. The Road to St. Patrick's Day continues at 5 p.m. at the Offshore Ale Co., 30 Kennebec Ave, Oak Bluffs
