Five Things to Know: Feb. 23, 2013

The Sausage Festival is today and tonight at the Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Society in Vineyard Haven.

  1. Watch out for whales: NOAA is asking mariners to slow down and avoid eight endangered right whales seen swimming off the Vineyard and Nantucket.
  2. Learn to make sausages, sample the results and take some home at the Sausage Workshop, 10 a.m., Martha's Vineyard Agricultural Society, 35 Panhandle Rd, Vineyard Haven, $45 includes half-price admission to the evening's Meat Ball, all part of the Sausage Festival.
  3. Up-Island: Story Hour and Art, 11 a.m., Aquinnah Public Library, 1 Church Street, Aquinnah, free.
  4. Chappy: Table Tennis, 11 a.m., Chappaquiddick Community Center, Chappaquiddick, free.
  5. Improvisation: , 7 p.m., Pathways at The Chilmark Tavern, 9 State Rd, Chilmark, free.
