First Annual Walk for the Animals Takes Place Saturday

Fun fundraising event for furry friends and their walkers tomorrow

The Dukes County Animal Shelter is hosting a walk for animals tomorrow that starts at the Oak Bluffs School and continues to the Oak Bluffs dog park at the Trade Winds Preserve. The walk will run from 10 am to 2 pm and since the walk is not scheduled to take four hours, pets and their friends may begin at any time.

Anyone who would like to participate can find registration forms at the shelter and at all Island veterinary offices. While most pets participating will obviously be dogs, all pets are welcome to participate – as are those who don’t have a pet, but still wish to contribute.

Sponsorships all go to benefit the shelter. Registration and money collection will take place today, from 2 to 4 pm at the shelter and tomorrow, from 9 am to 1:30 pm, at the Oak Bluffs School. Water and clean-up bags will be available. Rain date is October 8th.
