Collapsed Lucy Vincent Cliff Continues to Erode

Already a symbol of erosion on Martha's Vineyard, the cliff at Lucy Vincent Beach has crumbled further over the summer months. Watch our video to see what it looks like in late October, 2013.

In March of 2013, MV Patch visited Lucy Vincent Beach to document the damage done by months' worth of ocean storms going back to Hurricane Sandy.

In October, after a long season of predominantly fair weather, we returned to see that even more of the cliff has crumbled away. To see how much it has eroded, compare this video with the images posted in our photo gallery Lucy Vincent Cliff Collapses.
