Aerial Photo Shows Norton Point-Katama Breach

Photographer Bill Brine's recent aerial shot of the moving breach that divides Katama from Chappaquiddick is explained on the Chappy Ferry Facebook page.

It has been six and a half years since the beach connecting Katama and Chappaquiddick was breached in a storm, a periodic event that has happened many times over the centuries, according to a post on the Chappy Ferry Facebook page.

History suggests that the opening, which is moving eastward, will be closed again in another few years, reconnecting Chappaquiddick and Katama until the next time the beach fails, the Chappy Ferry post continues.

When do you think the breach will close again? Tell us in the comments.
