Louisa, thanks for posting this! It reminds me of a storm in 1982 when I worked for Tweeter Etc. and delivered a new stereo to James Taylor's mother Trudy, a long time resident on the Vineyard. I caught the last ferry due to a wicked snowstorm. Driving my red Renault LeCar with capable front wheel drive, I was able to get through the snow to with HiFi intact and enjoy a homemade bowl of Trudy's clam chowder. The guest room I slept in had good karma, once used by Joni Mitchell, Carol King and of course, the great Carly Simon. -Eric

What a great story, Eric! Thank you for sharing it. I think the Taylors must have hospitality in their blood: Have you stayed at the Outermost Inn? Hugh and Jeannie are about the sweetest innkeepers I've ever encountered.
