5 Things You Need to Know Today: April 18

From films to free art classes, there's plenty to do today on the Island.

1.  Karen Huff teaches an Introduction to Mac Computers at in Oak Bluffs tonight from 5-7pm.  If you want to know more about Mac specific programs, like Safari or iPhoto, or if you just want to hang out with other Mac geeks (or want to become one) join Karen Huff and her students tonight and find out what Apple can offer you!

2.   at the Oak Bluffs library at begins 10am.  Join in each week for coffee and the morning newspaper. Coffee and assorted pastries are donated by Tony's Market.  Have a relaxing morning with coffee and some news!  Visit the Oak Bluffs Library website for details.

3.  Spring vacation art classes continues today at Featherstone.  Today from 2:30-5pm, island teens are welcome to come to the with Nancy Blank and Carl Mueller.  For more information, please visit the Featherstone website for their full calendar of fun-filled events.

4.  Tonight at 7pm, there will be a Homeopathy presentation by Laurie Wheeler at the .  Homeopathy recognizes that symptoms are unique to each individual and attempts to treat the "whole person" rather than focusing on one particular disease. Some familiar systems and conditions are digestive, respiratory, gastrointestinal, and circulatory.  The library has asked Laurie to especially highlight the issues of Lyme disease and fibromayalgia, as they are of particular interest to islanders.

5.  For older audiences, tonight could be a great night for flicks!  FleaPit Film Night will occur at 7 pm at in Oak Bluffs.  They will show the horror film "American Maniacs." for mature audiences only.  There will be a Q&A session with executive producer Alexander Rentumis, as well. Suggested donation: $5.
