Warm Wednesday: Anime Club Meets at Y, Rotary Club Seeks to Donate

Five things to do, know and think about on Martha's Vineyard this Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013

  1. November is giving us a break today with temperatures expected to near 58 degrees at their height, according to the National Weather Service, which forecasts the likelihood of showers on an even warmer (61 degrees) Thursday.
  2. Spread the word: The Martha's Vineyard Rotary Club is seeking requests of up to $2,000 "for funding of projects or services from any charity, non-profit organizations, or organization dedicated to serving the needs of the residents of Martha Vineyard." To apply, submit a letter or request, preferably on letterhead, to John Rancourt, Chairman of the Charity Committee, Martha's Vineyard Rotary Club, P.O. Box 1951, Edgartown, MA 02539.
  3. Island tweens and teens have a Place to hang out after school: Alex's Place at the Y is open from Monday through Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday from 2:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Saturday from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. Wednesday, the Anime Club meets at 3 p.m. Find out more at alexsplace.net.
