Icy Weather; Tuesday Specials; Congratulations, Amy!

Tuesday's top tips for things to do and know on the Vineyard.

1. Temperatures are plummeting after Monday's warm wave: The National Weather Service predicts a near-steady daytime temperature of 17 degrees Fahrenheit with partly sunny skies and west winds 20 to 30 miles per hour, gusting to 45. Watch out for icy roadways when driving and take care not to slip while walking.

2. Tuesday's special at Menemsha Fish Market is all soups two for one. Try mixing the clam chowder and the lobster bisque together for a delightful half-and-half treat. The market at 54 Basin Rd. in Chilmark is usually open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The number's 508-645-2282.

3. Tuesday's special at Chicken Alley Thrift Shop in Vineyard Haven is 50 percent off books, puzzles and games.

4. Congratulations, Amy: The West Tisbury Free Public Library posted on Facebook this week, "We are pleased as punch to announce that Amy Hoff has been promoted to Assistant Librarian/Director of Young Adult & Programming!"
